Our Story
Peak Ability Therapy Solutions was founded on a simple but powerful realization: many of the challenges older adults face at home are preventable when the right knowledge, environment, and support are in place. Through her work as an occupational therapist across multiple healthcare settings, Dr. Kiyatta Freeman observed that the transition from hospitals or rehabilitation facilities back into the home is often one of the most critical moments for a person’s recovery and long-term independence. Too often, individuals return home without fully understanding how their environment, daily routines, or available support systems may impact their safety and ability to function.
Small barriers—such as poor lighting, unsafe bathroom setups, inaccessible storage, or a lack of adaptive strategies—can quickly become major obstacles that lead to falls, loss of confidence, and avoidable hospital readmissions. At the same time, Dr. Freeman witnessed how thoughtful home modifications, assistive technology, and caregiver education can dramatically improve safety, independence, and overall quality of life.
These experiences inspired the creation of Peak Ability Therapy Solutions, a platform designed to make occupational therapy knowledge more accessible beyond traditional healthcare environments. Through education, advocacy, and expert guidance on aging in place, home safety, and functional independence, Peak Ability empowers individuals and families with practical strategies that support confident, meaningful living at home. The name reflects the belief that every person has the potential to reach their highest level of ability and independence—regardless of age or physical challenges.
